North Las Vegas Police have arrested a man accused of firing at two men outside his home leaving in a vehicle Sunday morning in North Las Vegas, critically injuring both of them.

James Bulah, 60, of North Las Vegas, was booked into the North Las Vegas Detention Center on two counts of battery with a deadly weapon, which is a felony. North Las Vegas Police spokeswoman Chrissie Coon said Bulah posted bail Monday morning and was no longer in custody.

North Las Vegas Police responded at 5:49 a.m. Sunday to reports of shots fired in the 4500 block of Shannon Jean Court, which is near the intersection of Craig Road and Fifth Street.

Investigators said the two men were tampering with the homeowner's work truck that was parked in the street. Bulah heard the men outside and came out with a gun, firing at the men as they fled the scene in their gold Chevrolet Silverado that they had driven to Bulah's home.

Both men were struck by gunfire before crashing into the brick wall less than a block away, police said.

Officers found one shooting victim inside the vehicle. The second man, who also had been shot, was laying near the collision. Both men were taken to University Medical Center's trauma unit in critical condition, police said.

Coon said the men remained in critical condition Monday morning, but it is "very likely" they will face charges in the case. She said the two men didn't know Bulah. The names of the men would be released after arrests are made.

The shooting remains under investigation.
