Teen girl shot
A 17-year-old girl who was shot in the head Friday in what police are calling a gang-related shooting has died.
The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the girl as Jannet Sanchez, of Las Vegas.
Officers responded about 8:45 p.m. to the 2900 block of Beaconfalls Way where witnesses said they heard gunshots.
Police said Sanchez was with two male juveniles at the time of the shooting. They tried to drive her to the hospital before flagging down a patrol car, police said.
It is unknown if the girl was at a house party, standing in the street or sitting in a car when the shooting occurred, police said.
Authorities were interviewing witnesses but said the two males with the girl haven't been forthcoming with details.
