LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

States have reason to sue federal government

The federal government has let it be known that it plans to sue Arizona over its recently passed illegal immigration law. Why is the state standing by waiting for the lawsuit?

Why does Arizona not sue the federal government for failure to provide the protection afforded all states under the U.S. Constitution? Article IV, Section 4, of the Constitution states: “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.”

I doubt that anyone can deny that Arizona is under invasion by illegal immigrants from Mexico, and certainly the state, now known as the kidnap capital of the United States, is being overrun by domestic violence.

It is time the states took the initiative and attacked the federal government through the courts for its blatant disregard of the Constitution and the denial of protection of the states and the American citizens in those states.
