TCU running back Ed Wesley (34) is tackled by UNLV linebacker Jason Beauchamp in the second half Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, in Fort Worth, Texas. TCU defeated UNLV 41-0.

Former UNLV defensive standouts Jason Beauchamp and Martin Tevaseu each capped a week of practicing in front of scouts with solid showings Saturday in a losing effort in the East-West Shrine Game in Orlando.

The East squad scored a touchdown with 12 seconds left to play, coming from behind to win the all-star showcase played by seniors from around the country, 13-10.

Beauchamp recorded three tackles, including one behind the line of scrimmage from his linebacker spot. Meanwhile, Tevaseu plugged things up in front, and the former Rebels defensive tackle was credited with two tackles.

Beauchamp, who led the Mountain West Conference in tackles as a junior, was UNLV's tackling leader during a 5-7 campaign in 2009 as a senior, finishing the year with 95 stops, 12 behind the line of scrimmage, and 6.5 sacks. Tevaseu had 28 tackles and a sack as a senior.

The two will now continue to prepare for April's NFL draft, and both will take part in UNLV's annual pro day in early March.

Former BYU quarterback Max Hall was 7-of-12 for 119 yards, a TD and an interception for the West. His favorite target from Provo — tight end Dennis Pitta — had four catches for 72 yards.

Former UNLV and NFL wide receiver Keenan McCardell served as an assistant coach for the West squad.
