In response to a story in Saturday’s Las Vegas Sun, “We’re stuck, so will we bond?”
I moved to Las Vegas more than five years ago. I defended living here to ignorant out-of-towners and disgruntled locals. However, I’m slowly joining their ranks.
Sure, this is a beautiful location among the marvels of the Southwest; and the majority of locals seem to be honest, hardworking Americans.
The problem is that we have a “critical mass” of wrongdoers who contribute to a lower quality of life and stress for the rest of us. As I see it, our city has a disproportionate problem with the following: drug abusers; dangerous, aggressive drivers; greedy opportunists; uneducated people; and, to be frank, outright rude, hateful people.
We will bond when the silent majority stands up and, all together, says we will not accept these behaviors any longer. Although this is Sin City, we will no longer welcome sin of the illegal and dangerous kinds.
