4 Smashburger locations pledge donations to diabetes research

A burger and fries could help save the lives of children with diabetes: the valley's Smashburger locations have pledged to donate $1 to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for every Sin City Smashburger sold in the month of January.

JDRF is the "worldwide leader for research to cure Type 1 diabetes," the company said in a news release. Since its founding in 1970, the foundation has given $1.5 billion toward research projects.

Smashburger will also donate $1 for every Sin City Smashchicken sold. "Sin City" style comes with a fried egg, smoked bacon, grilled and haystack onions, American cheese and smash sauce on top of Certified Angus beef or chicken breast.

Las Vegas Valley locations are at 4725 S. Maryland Parkway; 7541 W. Lake Mead Blvd.; 9101 W. Sahara Ave.; and 5655 Centennial Center Blvd. The restaurant is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
