We’ve all heard that things are bad for many of our neighbors in the Las Vegas Valley. This was brought home to me as I watched a local interview show recently.
A woman who does charitable work, clearly devoted to her task, said that about half of the students in Clark County public schools are eligible for free lunches. This is then not a problem only at Christmas but year-round also.
I wonder if some of the poor test scores we see are because the children are hungry and can’t concentrate on their work. Children can’t provide for themselves, they need assistance to get proper food and lead healthy lives. If you can afford it, donate to local charities throughout the year.
