After a week of steady rains, flooding and big snows in the mountains surrounding the Las Vegas Valley, things dried out for Christmas Day.

From the Hoover Dam to the Strip, people were out and about enjoying the holiday and mild, dry weather that topped out at 58 degrees.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low of about 44 degrees and a 60 percent chance of rain showers, according to the National Weather Service.

For Sunday, showers are likely before 10 a.m., with partly sunny skies the rest of the day and a high near 58. Sunday night, expect partly cloudy skies and a low of about 43 degrees, the Weather Service says.

Headed into the work week, Monday and Tuesday should be dry with highs in the upper 50s and lows in the low 40s before a chance of showers returns on Wednesday. Cooler temperatures are projected for the latter part of the week with partly cloudy skies and a low of about 34 degrees on New Year’s Eve.
