LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Stimulate the economy by buying American

Whatever happened to “Made in America” labels?

On recent shopping trips, I am finding there are no labels on clothing and other items that proclaim the item was made in the USA. Even designer labels proclaim they were made in other countries.

I find the country of origin for most clothes to be China, Vietnam, Mexico and Bangladesh. I looked for a sweater that was made in the USA to purchase for Christmas and support our economy. I could not find any.

Upon further looking, I found TVs, computers and most other items are for the most part imported.

The USA has high unemployment nationwide. Many jobs have been sent overseas. We are providing a middle class and higher standard of living for other countries while Americans are losing financial ground. NAFTA?

We need to demand that Congress limit the amount of and tax imported goods. We need to encourage manufacturing here and keep our workers employed here, instead of exporting their jobs.

We need to encourage “Made in USA” products. I challenge Americans to buy only “Made in America” products.
