Many people are wondering when the economic stimulus will kick in.
There is plenty of demand, however. When you go to a fast-food restaurant or a department store, you see long lines of people wanting to be served.
For instance, a few weeks ago, I went to a fast-food chain restaurant, and a long line of customers were plunking down their money. But, alas, there were not enough people to cook the food or serve. It took 10 minutes to get my soda cup after paying for it.
If there is demand, why doesn’t big business hire more people? Big business is holding the economy hostage. They are holding out for yet another tax loophole or tax break.
It is time we tell big business it is their job to create wealth — and one way is to hire. Too long have they created profits by relying on tax giveaways.
