Dance performance to raise money for college scholarships

Shine Dance Studio and the Las Vegas Shining Stars, a local non-profit, are giving a special performance this Saturday at Clark County Library to raise money for the organization's scholarship program.

The Shining Stars fund college scholarships for valley students studying performing arts, said Kara McKee, its president. Many members also study at Shine Dance Studio, and this is the second year the two groups will perform a winter show, McKee said.

Performers, ages 2-18, will give "a medley" of dancing and singing performances, McKee said, spanning across all genres and influences.

Admission is $6, and all proceeds benefit the Stars' scholarship program. Shows will be held at 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the main theater. For more information, call 702-576-3296.
