Las Vegas will turn the economic corner in 2011, and our rise from the ashes will be fast. Why the optimism? Businessmen such as John Unwin and Tony Hsieh. This past week both gentlemen have shared their courageous decisions and visions with our community. Bravo!
The Cosmopolitan will be the Las Vegas destination point for years to come. It has out “city centered” CityCenter. It is vertical, urban chic with taste and flair. It will be hugely successful creating a “Facebook” buzz as a distinctive resort, accessible to all. Think of those unique, edgy experiences in your life that made you want to step outside your routine and just feel different. That will be the Cosmopolitan experience.
As for Mr. Hsieh, his decision to bring Zappos to the Fremont area is nothing short of genius. He is a unique and fundamentally curious leader who has created a corporate culture of happy, balanced team members who deliver profit with exceptional customer service. His corporate mantra of core values, learning and open and honest communications is leading the way in corporate management. He changes the landscape.
