Conboy named head of Department of Public Safety

CARSON CITY – A woman who has been with the state Department of Public Safety for 21 years has been named chief of its Investigation Division.

Elizabeth Conboy of Reno will succeed Scott Jackson, who is retiring. Conboy has been deputy chief.

The appointment was announced Tuesday by Jerry Hafen, who is retiring as head of the public safety department.

Conboy formerly worked in the Las Vegas office of the investigation division that conducts drug investigations and provides help to local law enforcement agencies. It has a budget of more than $5 million a year.
