Sandoval makes 2 appointments to administration

CARSON CITY – Gov.-elect Brian Sandoval has decided to keep Leo Drozdoff as his director of Conservation and Natural Resources and he named a Reno woman as his new director of energy.

Sandoval has selected Stacey Crowley, who runs a consulting firm, as energy director to replace Jim Groth in the new administration. Crowley is the daughter in law of Joe Crowley, the former president of UNR.

As conservation director, Drozdoff oversees the programs of parks, water, environmental protection, forestry and state lands. He has been acting director under the administration of Gov. Jim Gibbons.

He previously headed the Division of Environmental Protection and was chief of the Bureau of Mining Reclamation.

Crowley has 14 years of experience in architecture, planning, policy, research and advocacy.

“Stacey is a recognized leader in green development and her background in architecture and community development will bring a fresh perspective to this important job,” Sandoval said.
