Fire causes $100,000 in damage to Henderson home

A Henderson family was displaced Monday after a house fire caused about $100,000 in damage to their home, fire officials said. No one was injured.

Firefighters responded at 2:38 p.m. to a report of a house fire in the 2600 block of Niddrie Street in the Anthem Highlands area of Henderson.

Crews arrived to find smoke and fire showing from the window of a room on the second floor of the two-story home. Firefighters entered the hosue and found the fire in a bedroom/office on the second floor, officials said.

The fire was extinguished in about five minutes. Investigators determined the fire to be accidental in nature.

The family is being assisted by the Red Cross.
