UNLV’s winter commencement is Tuesday

UNLV is hosting its winter commencement on Tuesday, graduating more than 3,200 undergraduate and graduate students.

The ceremonies will take place at 4 p.m. at the Thomas and Mack Center, 4505 South Maryland Parkway.

The graduates in UNLV’s winter class of 2010 come from more than 60 countries, the university said. The youngest graduate is 20 years old and the oldest is 67.

Undergraduate students will wear red caps and gowns, transitioning from the black worn in previous ceremonies.

UNLV President Neal Smatresk will honor four graduating students during the 2 ½-hour ceremony, which will be streamed live online at http://unlv.vegasgraduations.com.

No tickets are required. Doors open at 3 p.m. and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
