The Las Vegas Young Entertainers will perform a benefit concert on Sunday to raise money for their upcoming trip to sing at the White House.

The Young Entertainers is a group of 21 singers, dancers and entertainers ages 6 to 18 years old. The troupe is invited to entertain tourists and staffers streaming through the White House on Dec. 21.

Their upcoming performance is the group’s third trip to Washington. The Young Entertainers will also appear at the Capitol Rotunda and the National Mall later this month.

To help offset the cost of the trip – $800 per person for airfare, room and board – the group is inviting Las Vegas residents to “Merry Christmas Las Vegas” at 2 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Las Vegas Rocks Café in the Embassy Theatre, 450 Fremont St.

The Young Entertainers – founded two decades ago by former Las Vegas headliner Helen Joy, who passed away last year – will be singing popular Christmas classics at the holiday concert.

Television personality and entertainer Tony Sacca will host and perform with the group, as will as a number of guest entertainers.

Sacca, who plans to once again join the group to Washington, D.C., said he hopes to raise $20,000 this weekend for their trip.

“The kids are really thrilled,” Sacca said. “Performing at the White House is going to be a great experience.”

Tickets cost $25 at the door, $20 in advance. Interested residents may purchase tickets by calling 702-364-8669 or make donations by visiting www.thelyve.com.
