Henderson rec centers offer childcare so parents can shop

For parents who need some time for their holiday shopping, some of Santa's little helpers are coming to the Silver Springs Recreation Center on Dec. 15 and will watch the little ones for a nominal fee.

Dubbed “The Great Elf Escape,” the program runs from noon to 4 p.m. Ages 5-12 are welcome. The afternoon will include games, holiday arts and crafts, and a snack.

The fee for the event is $15. Parents are asked to register online or in-person by Dec. 15. For more information, call 702-267-5710.

The Valley View Recreation Center is hosting a similar event Dec. 18.

For $20, children ages 5 to 12 can be dropped off at 11:30 a.m. and picked up at 4 p.m. Holiday games and crafts are on the schedule, and lunch will be provided. For more information, call 702-267-4060.

All programs are sponsored by Henderson Parks and Recreation.
