150 toys to be donated to Salvation Army drive

A local construction company is donating more than 150 unwrapped toys to the Salvation Army’s toy drive.

One truck decorated like Santa’s sleigh will deliver toys for children of all ages around noon on Friday at the Salvation Army Family Services building, 1581 N. Main St.

Har-Bro Construction and Consulting, Inc. – which provides property repairs and restoration after natural disasters – has participated in various holiday fundraisers for the past eight years, said company spokesman Anthony Sperduti.

The company, founded in 1961, is focusing this holiday’s donation on gifts for teenagers, Sperduti said. Har-Bro is donating DVD players, CDs, DVDs, make-up, curling irons and clothes for the teens.

“We’re looking at teenagers because when people donate to toy drives, they usually think of little kids,” he said.
