Park Service seeks comment on non-native plant management at Lake Mead

The public is invited to offer its comments on a proposed plan to manage Lake Mead National Recreation Area's non-native plants, the National Park Service announced on Wednesday.

An assessment of the plan's environmental impact was recently completed. The goal of the proposed management plan is to "protect and maintain native plant communities by preventing and removing non-native plants," the Park Service said in a news release.

Copies of the environmental assessment are available at area libraries or online. Comments may be submitted through the Park Service's website or by U.S. mail: 601 Nevada Way, Boulder City, NV 89005. Comments must be submitted by Jan. 14.
