Two overnight house fires in Las Vegas each caused about $50,000 in damage. One fire displaced two people from the home.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue crews responded at 10:44 p.m. to the first fire at 3212 Plaza de Rafael, near Oakey and Valley View boulevards. Neighborhood security officials spotted the fire and called the fire department, officials said.

No injuries were reported. The two adults living there weren't home at the time of the fire, fire officials said.

Investigators believe the accidental blaze started in a bedroom near a TV stand with several electronic appliances on it. The fire gutted a bedroom and caused heat and smoke damage throughout the rest of the home, fire officials said.

A little more than two hours later, fire crews responded to another house fire about five miles away at 2118 E. Oakey Boulevard near Eastern Avenue.

Firefighters arrived at 1:06 a.m. and had the fire knocked down by 1:29 a.m., fire officials said.

No one was injured in the fire. The vacant home sustained heavy heat, smoke and fire damage throughout the house, officials said.

Fire officials said the house was unsecured, making it easily accessible to anyone. The cause is under investigation.
