Letter to the Editor:

We would be wise to end military’s ‘don’t ask’ policy

Commissions, meetings, reports, hearings and surveys should be enough to change DADT (Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell) to PADT (Pentagon Announces Discrimination Terminated).

But Sen. John McCain wants additional data or wait until the two wars are over. I have a better idea. Let’s ask the Israelis and the Brits what to do. They have pretty tough militaries and have no problem with gays and lesbians serving.

I know we are falling behind the rest of the world in many areas, but let this policy no longer be one of them.
