Comedy magician Nathan Burton will visit with students at a local North Las Vegas elementary school on Dec. 8 in order to promote a literacy program.

Clark County School District Superintendent Walt Rulffes will accompany Burton as they read “The Recess Queen” by Alexis O’Neill to students at Kermit R. Booker Sr. Elementary School, 2277 N. Martin L. King Blvd.

“The Recess Queen” is a picture book that discusses anti-bullying and building empathy for others.

The event brings attention to Each One Read One, literacy program that promotes a sense of community through the reading off and discussion of a selected book. Each One Read One is a partnership between the School District, Clark County Reads, the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District and Vegas PBS.
