Part of Las Vegas Wash Trail closed for improvements

Las Vegas Wash Trail construction

A portion of the Las Vegas Wash Trail will be closed through March for construction.

The trail will be closed starting Monday between Owens Avenue and Lamb Boulevard for the Sandhill Owens Park and Trailhead Project.

Crews will be installing a new pedestrian bridge across the wash, realigning part of the trail and making landscaping improvements in the area.

The rest of the trail, from Lamb Boulevard to Stewart Avenue, will remain open.

Construction in the area, which is also known as the Doug Selby Park and Trailhead, will continue through June, but the trail is expected to re-open in March.

Signs are being installed and temporary fences are being put up to keep trail users from entering the construction area.

The project, which is being funded by the Bureau of Land Management through the Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act, is being managed by the Las Vegas Public Works Department with PEEK Construction as the contractor.
