Metro Police now believe a shooting involving a 15-year-old boy initially described as gang-related was self-inflicted.
Metro Lt. Ted Snodgrass said investigators determined the boy shot himself. The boy was taken to University Medical Center with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, he said.
Police responded to the 200 block of Page Street, which is near Stewart Avenue and Lamb Boulevard, at 2:32 p.m. and found the boy with a gunshot wound to the stomach, Snodgrass said. Metro's gang unit initially responded to the shooting, acting on information that it was a possible drive-by shooting.
