A 3-year-old boy is in stable condition in the hospital after he was found floating in a backyard pool Saturday afternoon.

Paramedics were called to a home in the 4100 block of Springhill Avenue at about 2 p.m. today after the child was found, Metro Police Lt. Jeffrey Whitehead said. That location is in the eastern valley near the U.S. 95 and Flamingo Road interchange.

The child was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where he was in stable condition, Whitehead said.

Officers from Metro’s Abuse and Neglect Detail are investigating the incident, which is standard procedure.
