Coconino County authorities say a Las Vegas child is hospitalized in Phoenix after his jacket caught fire during a recent camping trip.
The Sheriff's Office says they were called last Saturday to a campsite near Coleman Lake.
Upon arrival, they found a medical crew tending to the 4-year-old boy and prepping him for air transport to a Flagstaff hospital.
The boy was later flown to a Phoenix hospital where he is being treated for what are described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses told investigators the child was camping with five other family members when he got too close to a camp fire causing his jacket to catch fire.
The child's mother grabbed the boy and put out the flames.
