Mayor Oscar Goodman is expected to cut the ribbon to celebrate the grand opening Thursday night of an annual art exhibition at its new gallery space within the Arts Factory.

Trifecta Gallery’s fifth annual minUMENTAL Invitational moved from a small space at the Arts Factory to a larger 1,200-square-foot space, located near Downtown Las Vegas. This year’s art exhibition coincides with the gallery’s grand opening celebration, which will be held on from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Trifecta Gallery, 107 E. Charleston Blvd., Suite 135.

Goodman will be joined by officers from the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce to open the exhibition, which will showcase more than 200 works of art from 26 artists around North America. The public is invited to enjoy a champagne toast, hors d’oeuvres, dessert, and purchase art pieces.

“Having the bigger space was more than what I thought it would be,” gallery owner Marty Walsh said. “It was so incredible to see the enthusiasm of the artists to be in the show.”

Trifecta’s move to the larger gallery in July allowed the large exhibition of small artwork to showcase eight more artists as well as stay open seven days a week, host special events, offer delivery service and an internship program for people who want to learn how to manage an art gallery. Walsh said she was especially thankful for her interns for helping her put together the larger exhibition.

“It was most impressed with how my interns stepped up,” she said. “It was a lot more work having the bigger space, but they stuck with me.”

But the extra work was worth it in the end, Walsh said.

“Everybody wins,” she said. “It’s a big celebration.”
