Thousands of Santas will swarm the streets of Town Square on Saturday to take part in The Las Vegas Great Santa Run, an effort to raise money for local nonprofit Opportunity Village.

Entertainment and registration begins at 8 a.m. The 5K starts at 10 a.m., and the 1-mile Kris Kringle Jingle begins immediately afterward. Fees are $45 per person, with proceeds going to the organization's many missions.

Event organizers also hope to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of Santa Clauses, almost 13,000.

Almost 9,000 participants, including Mayor Oscar Goodman, flooded Town Square last year. On Saturday, the Monte Carlo's Zowie Bowie top the music line-up.
