Fire
A Henderson family was displaced Thursday night after a fire caused an estimated $10,000 damage to their home in Mission Hills, fire officials said.
The Henderson Fire Department responded at about 8:30 p.m. to the blaze in the 1200 block of San Jacinto Street, near the intersection of College Drive and Mission Drive. The family safely exited the home and there were no injuries, officials said.
The first firefighters to arrive discovered smoke coming from the attic vents of the home. Crews found a smoldering fire in the attic and extinguished it in about 10 minutes, officials said.
Investigators determined the cause of the fire to be accidental. The family is being assisted by friends and family.
