In honor of Lindsay Bennett, the UNLV dance team member and Coronado High School graduate who was killed by an alleged drunk driver last year, her friends and teammates will put on two special performances Saturday at the Coronado High School theater.

The UNLV Rebel Starzz, the Rebel Girls and the Coronado High School dance team will take the stage to raise money for LB3, an organization founded in Bennett's honor to raise awareness about the dangers of drunk driving.

Performances will be at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

LB3 also funds two scholarships: one for a Rebel Girl, the other for a Coronado dance student attending UNLV.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for those 18 and younger. All proceeds benefit the organization's efforts.

This is LB3's first holiday fundraiser. During the Runnin' Rebels regular season, the group has sponsors who pledge money for each three-pointer UNLV makes by the end of the year.

Bennett, who was 19, died two days after crash on April 15, 2009. Police said Vladimir Lagerev, 45, was driving the wrong way up the ramp at I-215 and Windmill, colliding head-on with Bennett's car.

Prosecutors say Lagerev had a blood-alcohol level of 0.20, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08. He is scheduled to go to trial on Feb. 16, 2011.
