Rough-and-tumble rigs will be on display at Henderson’s Water Street District on Friday, giving residents a chance to inspect the off-road machines before they roar into Dry Lake Valley on Saturday for the TransWest Ford Henderson “250” Desert Race.
Hundreds of off-road vehicles will be parked along Basic Road and Atlantic Avenue, undergoing technical and contingency inspections throughout the day, and drivers will be available for meet-and-greets.
Admission is free. The event begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m.
The TransWest 250, sanctioned by the Best in the Desert Racing Association, will be held on Saturday, with the first gun going off at 6:15 a.m. To find Dry Lake Valley, take exit 12 off Interstate 15, south of Henderson, toward Jean.
