At Boa, an alcohol-infused playlist to keep you young

At Boa Steakhouse inside Caesars Forum Shops, the bartenders have a playlist of their own—made of cocktails, not tunes. And like every playlist, it needs updating to keep things interesting.

Unveiled this month, the new Bartender’s Playlist is mixing things up with cheekily named libations like the Tropic Thunder, She’s My Cherry Pie, The Brazilian and ... The Banana Hammock.

But the one that enticed us the most didn’t reference skimpy swimwear. It was the Panacea cocktail also known as “The Elixir of Life.”

It’s been a long time since Juan Ponce de Leon landed in St. Augustine, Florida searching for the Fountain of Youth, and we’re still pretty sure a cocktail can’t promise an eternal youthful glow. But at least throwing back a few will make those around you look better.

So what’s in the magical beverage? The Panacea actually does employ certain ingredients that have been used for medicinal and anti-aging purposes. St-Germain elderflower liqueur, Alchemia ginger vodka and a dash of Fee Brothers orange bitters are mixed with muddled orange, simple syrup and lemon sour and served in a cocktail glass garnished with a candied orange peel or edible flower.

If the Panacea or one of the other new drinks doesn’t strike a chord, you can still get the classic playlist at Boa. You may as well try something new, though. You’re not getting any younger, no matter how much alcohol you attempt to consume as a preservative.
