No H8! Places to celebrate the overturning of Prop. 8

Prop. 8 is overturned in Cali. Let’s have a gay o’ time!

Now that gay and lesbian couples in neighboring California have the option to legally be just as miserable as straight married couples (kidding...), everyone may as well celebrate the last days of singledom and have a bachelor(/-ette) party for the LGBT community. Or not. Either way, we love our gays and celebrate they can get hitched over the state line. Here’s a few of the fabulous upcoming parties everyone is welcome to check out and cheers to the overturning of Prop. 8.

Forbidden Fridays at 8 1/2 Lounge & Piranha Nightclub There’s actually something going on seven days a week at the Fruit Loop staple hot spot. Friday check out the CoCo Vega drag show at 11:30 p.m., Krash Fridays at Gipsy with DJ Mikey Swift and more. For the full week’s schedule of events, check out Piranha and Gipsy in our club guide.

Winterfest at Krave Free snowcones!?!?!? Yes! The LGBT club on the Strip transforms into a winter wonderland with ice sculptures and snow — perfect since it’s not only hot outside, but you may need to cool off thanks to a set by hottie with a body DJ Scotty Thomson. And we’re serious about the free snowcones. Love it! August 7, doors at 10:30 p.m., free for locals before 1 a.m.

Grindr party at Bare’s Heaven Grindr. It’s a guy thing. As the largest all-male mobile social networking/dating app, the hottest boys from Grindr will be at Bare dancing the night away. Plus open bar from 10:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. August 7, doors at 10:30 p.m., contact 693-8300 for guest list.

Gay Skate Night at Crown Billed as the first annual “Homo Roller Disco” with “gay boys, queers and lezbos on wheels” (their words, not ours), Vegas LGBT icon DJ Lisa Pittman presents and spins at the special edition of Roller Boogie at Crown Nightclub. The tackier the ‘80s attire, the better, and Pittman and DJ Hollywood spin all your throwback roller rink favs. Free entry if you text “DJLP” to 44256. August 8, doors at 10 p.m., skates on site or bring your own, $25 all you can drink special and $100 bottles, call 518-4053.

Roller Boogie

First there was Down & Derby at Rain, then Boot Scootin' Boogie at Revolver. Now Roller Boogie at Crown Nightclub. But is it really a new phenomenon for Vegas? For the full story, click here.

Closet Sundays at Revolution presents Gaga Wars II Oh, this could get ugly... Eduardo Cordova’s weekly Sunday night LGBT party is going Gaga with a costume contest for the best diva. $1500 in cash prizes for the best Lady Gaga outfits, plus a concert ticket giveaway and celebrating the release of Lady Gaga - The Remix Album. August 8, 10 p.m., contact 693-8300 for guest list.
