Incident location

A 25-year-old man was arrested Thursday night on charges of attempted murder and drunken driving after allegedly trying to run two Metro motorcycle officers off the road near the intersection of North Durango and Shady Pines drives, police said.

Lt. Dan McGrath said the incident occurred about 7:45 p.m. when two officers tried to pull the man over near the intersection. He said the man, whose name was not immediately released, saw a motorcycle officer approaching and crossed several lanes in his car toward the officer.

Police said the motorcycle officers had to move to the sidewalk to avoid a collision. McGrath said officers believe the man was intentionally trying to run them off the road.

The man then led police on a short pursuit before colliding with another car. He was arrested on two counts of attempted murder and felony DUI, police said.
