Death investigation

The Clark County Coroner's Office on Tuesday identified a man and woman who died in a suspected murder-suicide Monday in North Las Vegas.

Officials identified the 35-year-old man as Nahshun Lomax and the 31-year-old woman as Tamequa Williams. An official cause of death is pending, the coroner's office said.

Lomax and Williams were found dead Monday afternoon by authorities responding to reports of a domestic disturbance, police said. Investigators are working the deaths as a murder-suicide.

North Las Vegas Police spokesman Tim Bedwell said officers responded to the home in the 300 block of Copper Pine Avenue, near the intersection of East Tropical Parkway and North Fifth Street, at about 1 p.m. on the report of an argument. He said no one answered the door when officers arrived, so they left.

Another call was made from the residence at 2:06 p.m. indicating a fight was occurring between a man and woman, Bedwell said. Officers were en route to the scene when a 911 call came in that someone had been seriously injured or was dead, authorities said.

Police said both Lomax and Williams suffered physical trauma. Bedwell said investigators believe the deaths are the result of a murder-suicide and police aren't looking for suspects.

Police were interviewing adults who were inside the home at the time of the dispute.

There have been six homicides in North Las Vegas in 2010, which doesn't include the suspected murder-suicide pending a ruling by the coroner.
