A motorcyclist was killed this morning after being struck by a vehicle traveling the wrong way on northbound U.S. 95 in Las Vegas, police said.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chelita Rojas said a passenger car was traveling south in the northbound lanes of the freeway at about 10:05 a.m. before colliding with the motorcycle head-on near the Decatur Boulevard interchange.

Medical crews performed CPR on the motorcyclist, but he died shortly after the collision, authorities said.
