LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Can Tea Party crowd offer better ideas?

We live in a great society where all of us can protest everything, from high prices to questionable government. But I agree with those who say that criticism is much stronger when the critic supplies a better solution.

The Tea Party movement has generated support, and those in it are clear about how they feel about the health care bill. I, for one, would welcome how they profess to fix our health care problems.

For example, the conservative side of me, as a centrist, has always objected to the practice of people without insurance walking in and out of hospitals and clinics without needing to pay any part of their bill. As I understand it, these occurrences have added to the overall cost of medical care that in turn raises the cost of the coverage we pay for. With all respects to the Tea Party movement, do those in it support this travesty of fairness or do they have a better idea? I would honestly applaud a better solution.

We have been critical of candidates who are not clear on their goals. It would be refreshing to raise the bar for all, allowing the activists to set an example for Washington and be clear about how we can fix things and make a better America.
