The big news in the tech world this weekend was the release of Apple's iPad tablet computer. With all of the talk about "apps" for the device and concerns that multimedia features on many Web sites won't work on the iPad because it won't allow Adobe's Flash plug-in, the one thing you don't have to worry about is whether the Sun's award-winning news site is compatible with the device.

It is.

The Sun's Web site has been reformatted so that it will automatically work on an iPad. That means the newspaper's readers continue to receive an immersive multimedia experience with all of the videos and photo galleries currently available on the newspaper's site.

There is no download or installation required to enjoy the Sun's text stories and multimedia content on an iPad. Just direct the iPad’s version of the Safari browser to LasVegasSun.com and the Sun will take care of the rest.

"We're excited to join national news brands like CNN, the New York Times and ESPN by offering our readers the freedom to enjoy the Sun's unrivaled news coverage on this cutting-edge device," said Brian Greenspun, president and editor of the Las Vegas Sun.

LasVegasSun.com's video and photo features also work seamlessly on Apple's iPhone.

Winner of the 2008 and 2009 EPpy Awards for “Best Overall Newspaper-Affiliated Web site with fewer than one million unique monthly visitors,” LasVegasSun.com has been honored with numerous recognitions for its excellence in multimedia journalism.
