I was recently in Hanoi and I visited the lake where John McCain was shot down during the Vietnam War. I also visited the prison where he and other captured American pilots were interned. I sincerely honor his military service.
During the Vietnam War, I remember many young men using the phrase “Hell no, we won’t go.” Many left the United States and went to Canada. (I believe in later years they were forgiven.)
It is sad to me that now Mr. McCain is using the “hell no” phrase and has apparently given up his “Country First” slogan.
Wouldn’t it be nice if someone of his stature would work to provide some kind of civility in the Senate?
