Airline to offer service between Las Vegas, Paris

Paris-based XL Airways, a charter carrier with five planes in its fleet, is expected to begin twice-a-week direct air service between Paris and Las Vegas next summer.

L’Echo Touristique, France’s leading tourism trade publication, reported today that XL would offer scheduled charter flights to and from McCarran International Airport.

The report was unclear on whether the flights would be nonstop. The airline already operates seasonal flights to one other North American destination, New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Among its five planes, the airline operates two Airbus A330-200 twin-engine jets capable of carrying 364 passengers and with a range that would enable nonstop flights.

Las Vegas already has nonstop service to and from Frankfurt on Condor and London’s Gatwick International Airport on Virgin Atlantic Airlines. Next month, British Airways will begin its daily nonstop service from London’s Heathrow International Airport announced earlier this year.
