Centennial fights off resurgent Shadow Ridge
Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 | midnight
Centennial quarterback Chris Henderson continued to prove why he might be one of the valley’s best in a 28-19 victory against Shadow Ridge.
Henderson went 11-for-16 for 206 yards and two touchdowns in the game.
“It was a typical Centennial-Shadow Ridge game,” Centennial coach George Baker said. “Throw the records out, it was a knock-out, drag-it-out type of game.”
Centennial went up 21-7 in the first half, but Shadow Ridge stormed back with a strong second half to make the score 21-19. Henderson calmly drove the Bulldogs down the field late in the game to add another touchdown and secure the win.
