Bishop Gorman continues to roll
Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 | midnight
Another week meant another Bishop Gorman romp as the Gaels pounded Sierra Vista, 62-6.
Bishop Gorman running back Victor Belen scored four touchdowns and had 91 yards on only six carries.
"He's had good performances in every game so far," Bishop Gorman coach Tony Sanchez said. "He broke a couple early and the guys opened some big holes for him."
Tight end Xavier Grimble had a touchdown and 106 yards on two catches.
But believe it or not, Sierra Vista actually scored first. The Gaels blocked a field goal attempt, but the Mountain Lions were able to pick the ball up and advance it to the end zone to go ahead 6-0.
The score only slightly delayed Bishop Gorman’s eventual dominance.
