Our nation is at a critical juncture

In my wildest dreams, never could I have imagined that Americans would someday debate whether the person elected to lead our country has the integrity to speak to our kids. Rome is burning, and our future is at stake.

In my wildest dreams I could never imagined that American's could elect such a radical and evil man to the Presidency. One big mistake America.
Fear mongers are everywhere today and they are very successful at spreading inuendo, rumor, false tales, publishing falsed documents, etc.
In Europe governments fear the people; in the United States people fear the government.
We are in the mess we are in because of fear. When did fear and distrust arise? Was with the WaterGate affair and Richard Nixons prounouncement that,"I am not a CROOK"? Was it Viet Nam? Jimmy Carter? Who or what created this Great Distrust in America?
We no longer trust the CDC because of fear mongers who promote ideas about the safety of vaccines to the point that parents refuse to vaccinate their children. Governmental plos have been advanced as ideas about the government 'poisoning all of us'.
We fear the FAA because of false information about aircraft safety training,maintenance, etc. The horror of 9-11 was a secret government plot....
We can't trust the police, the military or doctors any more... They are all out to get us...
We can't seem to believe or trust anything or anyone any more. The insurance companies cannot be trusted, lawyers cannot be trusted, bankers cannot be trusted, religious leaders are no longer trustworthy, teachers can't be trusted,etc, etc.
But foremost we can't trust politicians especially those of the opposite party...even the President, elected by the people can be trusted.....
Something is drastically wrong with this country and the thinking that is permeating our society... We are decaying from within and are headed for a disaster of major proportions if the trend is not reversed.
We have allowed a minority of radicals on the far right and the far left to dominate thinking and policies in this country. This country was once proud of "WE THE PEOPLE...". NOW it is us against them.... and, them is everyone that doesn't agree with us....
REMEMBER: United we stand, Divided we fall!
In my wildest dreams, I were never believe that Democrats would forget that they not only protested Bush giving a speech to high school students in 1991 but on top of that they held Congressional hearings into the matter.

Nor were there protests from parents. If you are going to complain about the Democrats in Congress then get your story straight. I do not recall protests in the streets over Bush's speech, nor do I recall the public, et al calling Bush a commie socialist.

I would be happy to have a black president if he/she was a rational sensable human being. Condi Rice, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams come immediately to mind and all three have the intellectual ability to make a great president. Maybe the mistake who was elected would be great at opening doors as he lacks the intellect to run the country, but that has nothing to do with his race.

If you do not listen / watch Rush, FOX, then you certainly do not have first hand knowlegable about the stuff your spouting. One thing I have learned readiing the post here is that there are no thinking people here. Most of you just spew rhetoric from your favorite talking head shows. You know nothing of what it takes to fix the problems of this country. When someone comes along (President Obama) who is trying to put this country on a track to its former greatness you can do nothing but complain. You see only the negative (which is what you only want to see). There is no "Cult of Obama", there is no conspiracy to cover up a Kenyan born president. What there is is a nation of people who were tired of mishandling of their country for the last 8 years. Those same people spoke out with their votes and demanded something different. I don't know about you but that makes me proud to be an american. For whats its worth, remember there are 2 other branches of government. Checks and balances people. Mr. Obama cannot change the very nature of this country. He is only one man. Although he is the president people seem to think that he can do more damage than the last 20 presidents combined. He can do no more harm than the last president. If you don't like him you can pursuade others with your same beliefs to vote against him in a little over three years. Problem solved!
Rush didn't want to go to school as he hated it. I notice Bill Gates dropped out of college too and went on to become the richest man in the World. Most of Limbaugh's family went into law which he did not like but he went into radio starting as a disk jockey. He went on to become the most successful radio personality in history. He can get up and make a very coherent two hour speech without a single note. The retarded president cannot even say good morning without the teleprompter displaying something someone else has written

vsestini, for the most part you and I are far apart in our political views. However I am in complete agreement with your post. I don't know when it became us vs. them in this country. I think part of the problem are the overexposed talking heads who can only convey their opinions with a slant of hate, because that is good for ratings, and that is from BOTH the right and the left. We can certainly disagree with each other, but what is currently happening now is not leading us to answers.

Yep. Unemployment will keeeeep on rising. The recession ended last quarter. Especially here where there is no future, no job, no base, no education and absolutely no wish for education that would lead to investments that lead to jobs.
