Two men have been found dead in Six Mile Cove on Lake Mohave, National Park Service rangers say.
One body was found floating in the water as soon as rescuers arrived about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, and a second man had been reported missing. Members of the Park Service, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department and Clark County Fire Department searched for more than an hour before finding the second body in about six feet of water, Park Service spokesman Andrew Munoz said.
Both men appeared to have drowned, Munoz said, though the deaths were still under investigation.
It was unclear late Tuesday night whether the men were swimmers and what their relationship was, though rangers believe they were at the cove together, Munoz said. Their vehicle was found in the parking area.
Six Mile Cove is a popular back-country swimming area just south of Cottonwood Cove, Munoz said.
