Report: Second staff member working on Gibbons’ reelection
Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 | 9:57 a.m.
Gov. Jim Gibbons' chief of staff isn't alone among senior state staff members working to get their boss reelected.
The governor's deputy chief of staff, Stacey Woodbury, is also maintaining and operating Gibbons' campaign Web site, according to the Reno Gazette Journal.
Woodbury is doing the work on the Web site, jimgibbons2010.com, after work hours and on weekends, she told the newspaper.
On Tuesday, the Las Vegas Sun reported that Gibbons' Chief of Staff Robin Reedy is hosting a fundraiser for the governor's reelection. Longtime political observers could not recall a similar event held by a governor's chief of staff, and some raised questions about the appearance that politics is seeping into the day-to-day operation of state government.
Both Reedy and Woodbury dismissed concerns.
“There’s always a perception and anybody can slant anything the way they want to,” Woodbury said. “But when I’m at home on the weekend and not traveling, that’s when I work on the Web site.”
Woodbury is a former director of the state Ethics Commission.

Woodbury is the former director of the state Ethics Commission? WTF!
Nevada has no ethics. How can you direct what is not? GIBBONS condones this behavior, behavior is a Gibbonsisum.
Has Gibbons' General Counsel advised him on any legal issues? What is he or she paid for anyway?
Nevada is void of anything that smells like ethics. Can you say John Ensign, whoremonger and violator of our national security laws? He conspired with his parents and (R-OK) U.S. Sen. to suppress the fact he was being blackmailed. His whole crew are guilty of the commission of high crimes and misdemeanors. ALL holders of top-secret military security clearances are required to report to the FBI, Congress, and DoD-DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency), anytime they are ARRESTED, blackmailed, recipienets of letters of indebtedness, etc. There's that's Craig to-tapping smell again. Oabama is giving our military personnel a double-standard. If military folks conspired like Ensign, Coburn, and Ensign's parents, they would be immediately stripped of their security clearances, jailed, and later mustered out of our military units. Again, Obama shows his fear of the GOP Nazis. Silly me! I thought Obama only feared the criminal and illegal Mexicans' support mafia (pope, LARAZA, SEIU, Wal-mart, Rev. Al Charlatan-Wal-Mart paid illegals' lobbyist,etc.).
If the Devil himself was running against Gym Gibbins, I would have to decide between the Devil I know, and the Devil I don't know. And I STILL wouldn't vote for Gym Gibbins.
If energized staffers are voluntarily doing this on there own time I don't see that there is a legal conflict. It is surprising though to hear of folks in that office working towards a common goal, it did not seem that way in the past.
what scum bags...
bottom line...
has there ever ever ever been a governor in nevada with less leadership skills than jimmy monkey boy gibbons???
The Las Vegas Sun is just jealous and just throwing out another hit piece against conservatives. There is nothing wrong with what they are doing, as long as they not doing it on State time.
I guess it is a very slow newsday in the office that Schwartz has nothing else to write on or conservatives to screw over.
I will be supporting the Governor; he is the only one in Carson that has a clue about how it works!
As far as leadership, he is the ONLY one that shows any up there. He can poke it wherever he wants to.
He understands "it the ecomony stupid" His hands have been tied and he still fights - that is what I want in a leader.
Are those of you who are throwing stones the same ones who defended Obama's trip to Nevada to raise money for Harry Reid?
I thought so.
Supporting the Governor here as well!
