The Golden Nugget will welcome the first guests to its new 500-room Rush Tower today, marking the completion of the hotel-casino’s $150 million expansion.

The new guest rooms are 20 percent larger than the Golden Nugget’s North and South Tower rooms.

Standard room features include upgraded pillow-top mattresses, feather down comforters and 42-inch plasma televisions. The tower also has four penthouses and 70 corner suites.

The Rush Tower also features the Chart House, an upscale seafood and steak restaurant owned by Golden Nugget’s parent company, Landry’s Restaurants. A 75,000-gallon aquarium with more than 1,000 tropical fish will be the centerpiece of the 200-seat restaurant.

The tower will also include an expanded casino floor and retail offerings.

“The tower is the latest in our ongoing renovation and expansion projects at the Golden Nugget, which now total more than $300-million,” said Tilman Fertitta, the chairman, president and chief executive officer of Landry’s Restaurants.

The Rush Tower will have its own porte cochere, which can be accessed at First Street and Carson Street.

The Golden Nugget will mark the opening of the Rush Tower with a grand opening celebration on Monday.
