LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Republicans stoop to silly name-calling

Sunday, May 17, 2009 | 2:04 a.m.

The head honchos of the Republican Party continue their hapless attack on Democrats. With no substantive ideas on improving their own political stance, some of them are offering a demeaning change of name for the Democrats to the “Democrat Socialist Party.”

In all fairness, may I suggest a name change for them? How about “The Republican Fat Cat Party”?

Will silliness ever end?

  1. "some of them are offering a demeaning change of name for the Democrats to the "Democrat Socialist Party.""

Paul Seidman why is it demeaning to call a Socialist a "Socialist".

Be proud of why you are a Socialist and make sure you blame being a Socialist on Bush - Bush did it first still works.

Nothing better then the government and the union running General Motors, and the government owns 80% of AIG. Fannie and Freddy own the mortgages of half the homes in America.

Health Care and the power industries are next up.

  2. It's funny how there was plenty of NAME CALLING the last few years against BUSH and GOP. It receiving little coverage other than as a punch-line. Now, the tides turn ... and GOP name-calls the other way and suddenly it's a story.

  3. The intent of the letter is great, the name calling is getting old and is unproductive. But looking at the letter I see the pot calling the kettle black using words like silly, hapless and the Republican Fat Cat Party.
    .....Will silliness ever end?
