The winner of the contest will receive a one-year management contract with Envy Modeling and Talent Agency. Runners-up will receive cash and other prices.

The deadline for the contest is Jan. 1, 2010. Winners will be announced in early 2010.

The different categories in the competition include:

• Solo singer or instrument

• Band participation as a group

• Dance group or solo dance act

• Impressionist of a famous star

• Rock star model

Contestants may enter more than one category – at $100 for each additional category.

Judges are Monte Rock III, Daniel Mahan (president of Envy) and a representative of the Kim Flowers Modeling, Acting and Management Agency.

International Rock Star Academy, established last year, is a training facility for aspiring musicians. President Eva Posner said the contest is being held in conjunction with the first anniversary of the Academy.

Posner said the Academy was created to help students “develop their creativity, improve their skills, gain confidence, and to motivate them to write, rehearse and perform their own original songs.”

“With the experience and knowledge of our instructors and coaches, we strive to blend their music style,” said Posner. “We help students develop their skills in voice, guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, percussion, piano and other musical instruments. We offer classical piano, music theater and opera lessons together with broadcasting, modeling and all forms of dance. At he basic level, we help each student develop individually.”
