University of Oklahoma football recruit Justin Chaisson's ex-girlfriend was granted a restraining order against Chaisson the day before he was arrested on several felonies resulting from an altercation with the 17-year-old girl, a Clark County District Court spokesman said.

Chaisson, a Bishop Gorman High School senior, had the restraining order placed against him on March 16, court spokesman Michael Sommemeyer said. Chaisson was arrested the next day and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a gross felony, four felony and three misdemeanor charges stemming from an incident with his ex-girlfriend, Sommemeyer said.

He was released the same day of his arrest on $30,000 bail. Chaisson had a court hearing Thursday morning but did not appear in person.

He is next scheduled to appear in court on April 16 for a hearing on the misdemeanor charge of violating the restraining order. He is set to appear in court on the other charges at 1:30 p.m. on April 29 before Judge Melissa Saragosa in Las Vegas Justice Court Department 4.

Officials at Oklahoma have yet to comment on Chaisson's arrest.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Chaisson had 23 sacks as a junior in 2007 to set a state record and help Gorman win the state championship. Recruiting Web site Rivals.com lists him in its top 100 recruits for 2009.
